Supplemental Insurance
Do you need supplemental health insurance? Supplemental insurance is sold by private companies and it is meant to be used for people that have a primary health insurance plan. Supplementary insurance will cover some of the health care costs that your plan doesn’t cover. It is common to see individuals purchase supplemental coverage if they have high deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Fortunately there are a number of affordable supplemental health insurance options for families and individuals. Thrive Health Insurance can provide assistance in finding an affordable health insurance plan that will provide you with coverage for extra medical expenses.
Do I need Supplemental Insurance?
As a general rule of thumb, most Americans under age 65 will not need supplemental insurance as a major medical health insurance plan should provide plenty of coverage. We recommend supplemental insurance for individuals and families that need to fill gaps with their coverage, or have a major medical expense this year and could benefit from a short-term health plan. If you are a senior who is currently enrolled in Medicaid, we recommend supplemental insurance coverage to help pay for prescription expenses and other health care costs.
